The Kolisnytsya is a revolutionary machine in the range of soil cultivation equipment, combining elements of a disc harrow and a cultivator. It can be used for primary soil tillage, pre-sowing preparation, seeding of grain crops, and green manure. Advocates of the Ovsinsky method have found it to be a tool that aligns with his soil cultivation technology.

This technologically simple tool is capable of performing quite complex agricultural operations, such as:
— minimal soil tillage (3‒8 cm);
— cutting the roots of volunteers and weeds;
— soil shredding;
— mulching the field surface with crop residues;
— moisture conservation in the soil;
— sowing of small-seed crops and green manure.

These types of machines are assembled on a double-beam frame with working widths ranging from 2.6 to 6 meters. Each working unit is attached to the crossbeam via elastic rubber shock absorbers, allowing it to follow surface irregularities (within 5 cm). Each working unit consists of two cutting wheels placed on either side of a sturdy spring stand. The stand sets the working angle of the cutting wheels at 18 degrees relative to the pulling line of the machine.

The working angle of the units allows the cutting wheels to slice the soil at a specified depth, while the wheel spokes shred the soil and separate it into two fractions — processed soil and crop residues. The heavier soil fraction forms the bottom layer, while the cut crop residues form the top layer of the treated surface. To prevent surface ridging, the machine features an adjustable rear row of working units, enabling optimal soil cultivation.

The hub of the cutting wheel is based on two double-row radial-thrust bearings (3209) and is protected by seals and rubber gaskets to prevent dust and moisture from entering. The threaded fixation of the working unit elements is designed according to the wheel’s rotation direction (right or left thread depending on the position).

The working depth of this machine varies from 3 to 8 centimeters, ensuring high-quality surface layer treatment without excessive moisture loss from deeper layers. The sandwich covering helps conserve and accumulate moisture due to temperature fluctuations (day-night). The availability of this machine to a wider range of users with low-power tractors is achieved through an additional option — a transport device, which unloads the tractor’s hitch system during transportation and maneuvering.
